In addition, according to the Article 1 of the Temporary Organizational Regulations of Kaohsiung Harbor Police Department under the National Police Agency, Ministry of the Interior,"For Kaohsiung Port security (including water regime and all facilities), the security checks of staff, goods and transportation for migration and interior sailing, and also for the law enforcement, Kaohsiung Harbor Police Department is formed."
 

To apply the reorganization of Executive Yuan, former "Kaohsiung Harbor Police Office" has transformed into "Kaohsiung Harbor Police Department" on January 1st, 2014.
